Well, it’s been a while since I’ve sat down for a proper blog post. Part of that is because, as my last post mentioned, I’ve been incredibly busy. So busy, in fact, that I’ve earned more than one sitdown in which a coach or ex postcollegiate I respect tells me to make sure I’m not doing too much if running is my primary focus. The other cause for the recent hiatus in my posting, though, is because my computer charger broke, so I haven’t been able to sit down and write in my own home. track

Anyhow, this should be a short post because I’m sure to post again tomorrow or Monday because my first race as a postcollegiate is tomorrow, here in PVD! The CVS Downtown 5k, which is coincidentally the US road 5k championships, takes place tomorrow here in Providence. So if you want to see me toe the line against Bernard Lagat, Ryan Hill, Lenny Korir, and others, come downtown around 11! Even if I don’t impress you, you’ll be watching freaking Olympians. Besides, I’m sure to get a scalp or two out there, right?

Training’s been fine–I’ve had a number of really solid workouts and one poor workout (though that one was in the middle of a long work day at PC in 90 degree heat… and it was a freaking hard workout)–and I’m feeling good putting in some miles. Because of the field at CVS I don’t know what to expect, but I sure plan on being motivated and excited to compete against some high quality runners. You can bet Shane and I will be representing the home state with pride!

And who knows, maybe if we’re really lucky we can come home with some paper as well ;).
